Currumbin Beach’s Biggest Outdoor Art Show is Turning Heads.
Art, Sculptures, Food, Sand, Surf, Sea Breezes, and Sunshine. A perfect day trip, this is why everyone is talking about the Swell Sculpture Festival.
Today we spent a wonderful day at the Swell Sculpture Festival at beautiful Currumbin Beach, Gold Coast Queensland. The sculptures stretch from Currumbin Beach to Flat Rock Tugun. From dawn until dusk and into the night the sculptures will astonish and delight as the beach and foreshore are transformed into a stunning outdoor gallery experience.
Strolling along the beachfront and into the sand dunes, we discovered an incredible collection of sculptures ranging from striking large-scale sculptures to intricate works crafted from metal, timber, and recycled materials.
Some pieces blended seamlessly with the coastal landscape, while others stood boldly against the backdrop of rolling waves and blue sunny skies. The life-saver dinosaur was one of my favourites.
The creativity and craftmanship on display were truly inspiring, with many works inviting you to stop, reflect, and interpret their meaning in your own way. The combination of world-class art, fresh sea air, and the stunning Currumbin Coastline made for an unforgettable experience.

This Festival is very popular, Parking is a premium around Currumbin Beach, especially on weekends.
✨ Top tip: Skip the parking stress and take the shuttle or bus so you can spend more time enjoying the sculptures!
- 🚌 Use the FREE Park & Ride Shuttle from Currumbin RSL (165 Duringan St), running daily on a continuous loop between the RSL and the festival.
- 🚏 Catch public transport with TransLink bus routes 767 and 768, which stop along Pacific Parade near the festival.
- Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (28 Tomewin St, Currumbin) – Paid parking.
- Wallace Nicoll Park (northern end of Currumbin Beach) – This is also the parking for Currumbin Beach, it’s always busy. Toilets are available here.
- 🚲🚶♂️ Better yet, walk, ride, or scoot along the beautiful Gold Coast Oceanway and enjoy the coastal scenery on your way to SWELL.
