Welcome to Kirra Beach Gold Coast. If you’re looking for the perfect Gold Coast Day trip, it’s hard to go past Kirra Beach. With its world-famous surf break, pristine white sand, spectacular ocean views, and relaxed coastal atmosphere, Kirra offers everything from a classic Queensland beach escape.
Let’s go and explore one of Australia’s most renowned beach locations. 🌊☀️🏖️
During my recent visit, one of the things that captured my attention is the seemingly endless stretch of soft white sand. The beach feels spacious and open, providing plenty of room for families, sunseekers, beach walkers, and surfers alike.

Kirra Beach is one of Queensland’s most iconic sea-side destinations, perfect for a Gold Coast Day trip or a relaxing beach holiday. Whether you’re taking a leisurely stroll along the shoreline, enjoying a swim at the patrolled beach, or simply soaking up the coastal atmosphere, Kirra offers a classic Australian beach experience at its finest.

Situated at the southern end of the Gold Coast, Kirra Beach is perfectly positioned near Coolangatta Beach, Rainbow Bay, and Snapper Rocks, making it one of the best locations for visitors wanting to explore several of the best beaches on the Gold Coast in a single day.
Until next time… Now, sit back and enjoy the Kirra Longboard Klassic surf competition.

Widely regarded as one of Australia’s premier Gold Coast surf beaches, Kirra is famous for its legendary surf break, attracting surfers from around the world. Hosting major surfing events has cemented its standing as an icon of surfing on the Gold Coast.
Watching surfers carve effortlessly through the famous waves competiting in the Kirra Longboard Klassic was a highlight of my visit and a reminder of why Kirra has earned legendary status in the surfing community.

Unlike some of the busier tourist hotspots on the Gold Coast, Kirra has managed to retain a relaxed village atmosphere. The beachfront promenade appeals to visitors to walk, cycle, or simply sit and enjoy uninterrupted ocean views.
Kirra is also well equipped for those who want to stay longer than a day. Accommodation options range from luxury beachfront apartments to boutique holiday rentals, making Kirra suitable for couples, families, and solo travelers.

The beachfront is lined with modern high-rise apartment buildings, many featuring large balconies offering spectacular panoramas just steps from the sand. What a location; Could this be you as you enjoy a sunrise breakfast or evening drinks while overlooking the ocean?

Beyond the beach, one of Kirra’s greatest strengths is its excellent selection of food and beverages offering some of the finest beachfront dining on the Gold Coast. With everything from casual cafes and takeaway eateries, The Kirra Beach Surf Club (check out Salty’s Coffee) to elegant restaurants (Siblings Kirra) serving the freshest local produce, all with stunning ocean views.
The iconic Kirra Beach Hotel is also a must visit. This classic Australian pub has been serving the best pub grub and cold beers since 1956. Offering delicious meals, refreshing drinks, and unbeatable views. Wander up from the beach, claim your spot and get the local treatment (great kids’ menu also available).

🌊 Arrive early and start your day at Kirra Point. You’ll enjoy the best views of the famous Kirra surf break, smaller crowds, easier parking, and a spectacular sunrise over the Pacific Ocean. Don’t forget sunscreen, a hat, and comfortable walking shoes so you can explore nearby gems like Coolangatta Beach, Rainbow Bay, Snapper Rocks and Point Danger. ☀️🏖️🏄♂️
🔥Local Tip: Grab a coffee from a beachfront café and take a stroll along the esplanade before the day heats up for the Ultimate Kirra Beach experience.
