What a discovery this location is, Springwood Park situated on Cinderella Drive Springwood, in Logan City’s northern suburbs and only a short drive from Brisbane’s CBD. This is a great place to escape for a day out. With plenty of green grass and small rolling hills, there’s loads of space for the kids to run around and go crazy. Throw your picnic blanket down under one of the many shady trees or grab one of the several shelters and enjoy what is a very special place.
The Park’s playground is eye-catching with a stack of brightly coloured slides and swings all under cover and protected from the sun by several overlapping shade sails.
Situated around the Park are numerous shelters with tables and chairs all within close proximity to electric BBQ’s making this a wonderful spot to picnic or get togethers with family and friends. This is a pretty exciting place to spend a few hours in the middle of suburbia.
Take a walk along the boardwalk which meanders alongside the creek, which was in full flow on the day of my visit due to recent rain, on the outskirts of the Park. The boardwalk then links to additional walking paths that snake through the beautifully manicured gardens and past the War Memorial. You’ll be impressed with the views. Parking is a breeze with a designated car park and extra spots along the ring road.
If bringing a picnic with you doesn’t appeal or you just want that morning coffee and a snack, Café 63 is right on your doorstep. Great coffee, fantastic food and if the weather is kind sitting out on the deck overlooking the Park right next to the creek is a setting that you will long remember.
- This is a very popular Park on the weekends, with the café usually well patronised and limited parking spots.
