Situated 25km south of Brisbane in the northern Logan City suburb of Daisy Hill is the Daisy Hill Conservation Park and Koala Centre, an unexpected gem of a place where the Bush comes to the City. A forested oasis surrounded by urban development where you can escape the city and explore bush trails, go horse and mountain bike riding, with plenty of room to run around for the kids, have a wood fired BBQ lunch and go wildlife spotting at the Daisy Hill Koala Centre.

As you enter the Park and turn left, the road is one way with plenty of off-road parking available in designated areas. Car Park One in the Daisy Hill day use area is wheel chair friendly with path ways that lead down into the park, to the amenities block and to the Koala Centre. Bus parking areas for larger groups is also available and sign posted as you drive around the ring road.
Stake your claim at one of the many picnic tables that are scattered throughout the park. Some covered and some not but all are situated amongst the shady trees and bush that surround them.
Boil the billy for a hot “cuppa” or cook up a feast for lunch as all the spots have easy access to both electric and wood fired BBQ’s. There aren’t many places left where you can stoke up the fire and enjoy the sights and smells of cooking on an open fire. The wood for the BBQ is pre-cut and you can gather the smaller “kindling” required to get your fire going from old twigs and tree branches that are on the ground. Hot Tip: Don’t forget to BYO paper or fire lighter and matches to start your fire. Also check and make sure that there are no fire restrictions in place on the day of your visit.

- The Park is a BYO destination (including all your own water & refreshments). There are no cafes or coffee shops on site.

The park features walks amongst towering eucalypt trees and grassy areas where the kids can run wild. Keep an eye out for Koalas that might be “dozing” in the forest canopy above or if your lucky you might spot one of the resident red-neck wallabies.
Do a little or do a lot, there is still so much more with most of it starting from the picnic area. Go adventuring and follow the sign posted tracks on foot as you wander through magnificent eucalypt forests and wetlands (click here for walking trail information).

The trails are graded from easy to difficult so the many options are there for your choice.
Everyone loves our native Koala and the Daisy Hill Conservation Park and surrounding areas are home to one of Australia’s most significant regional Koala populations. Take a walk through the Daisy Hill Koala Centre where you will not only see Koalas, but you will also learn about conservation efforts to protect these beautiful marsupials.
Educational talks by The Wildlife Officers and interactive displays for the kids are all part of the Koala Centre (click here for extra info) experience.
Surrounded by a myriad of walkways and tracks while strolling through tall eucalypt forests along shared trails (walk, mountain bike, horse riding) is a hidden oasis, The Old Quarry in Daisy Hill. This idyllic permanently filled waterhole is popular with dog owners wanting to take their four legged friends for a swim and visitors just wanting to take some time out and admire the beautiful views.
Daisy Hill Conservation Park and Koala Centre seem a long way from nowhere with the sounds of the bush, wood fired BBQ’s and who could forget those cuddly Koalas but is right in Logan City on Brisbane’s and the Gold Coast’s doorstep. Easily accessible by car, plenty of parking and so much to see and do.
