It has been over six months since ROAD TRIP’N published our first road trip blog. With thousands of kilometres travelled (go the mighty Mazda – Zoom Zoom), we have visited many locations, wandered through Australian history at its best in several Historical Villages, walked mountain and bush trails amongst rain forests and towering Australian gum trees, lunched at some iconic country pubs and sampled lots of local coffee cafes along the way.
Travelling to places that I didn’t even know existed, the views have been magnificent and don’t forget we discovered a beach in Brisbane City at Captain Burke Park (click here). The parks, stunning gardens of colour and tranquillity and scenic lookouts have offered some of the best views that you could imagine with picnic areas and facilities that are second to none. If you are a budding photographer or just an amateur like us here at ROAD TRIP’N you are spoilt for choice with your happy snaps at most of these locations.
So, you to can enjoy everything that is available, we have put together some road and day trips of what we consider “The Best of ROAD TRIP’N”. These trips can be done as a day out or put a few together with an overnight stay.

- Road Trip – Exploring the Lockyer Valley – The Barn and Scotty’s Garage (click here)
2. Fernvale & Savages Crossing Day Trip – Road Trip to Crows Nest(click here). A coffee stop and a break in Fernvale then some time to explore Savages Crossing. A great place to cool off on a hot summers day.
Time to stop and check out Lake Perservence on the way and then onto Crows Nest (click here)
We discovered that there was a lot more than just views with a road trip to Mt Gravatt Lookout and hidden away in Corinda was this little gem – Francis Lookout.
We didn’t travel too far to find this one and tucked away in the leafy suburb of Daisy Hill is this magnificent man-made lake, a place of tranquility but with so much activity on and off the water – Dennis Lake.
Check out these “Best Of” blogs for some inspiration for your next road trip and also while you are visiting the ROAD TRIP”N site, there are plenty of other ideas for you to be able to get out and enjoy SE Qld at its best.
